ECOSOC

The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) is one of the six main organs of the United Nations, responsible for coordinating the economic, social, and related work of 15 specialized UN agencies. ECOSOC is tasked with promoting international economic and social cooperation and development, focusing on improving living standards, addressing poverty, and promoting sustainable development. ECOSOC provides a forum for discussion on global challenges, such as energy, sustainable economic growth, and social inclusion, and offers recommendations to the General Assembly, the Security Council, and other UN organs.
